According to the latest report on Chinese mould industry, the total import and export value in the first quarter of 2014 reached 1.807 billion USD. It increased by 18.11% when comparing with that of the same period in 2013. Total imports of moulds in the first quarter were 0.686 billion USD, rose by 14.42% on year-on-year basis. At the same time, overall exports in the same field realized 1.121 billion USD, increased by 19.40% on year-on-year basis.
Followings are the basic information of imports and exports. (All statistics below are compared with the corresponding imports or exports of moulds in the first quarter of 2014.)
(1) On the basis of mould types, imports plastic and rubber moulds accounted for 44.48% while the exports covered 64.92%. Imports and exports of trimming dies accounted for 45.18% and 19.11% respectively.
(2) In line with export destinations, moulds of China mainland were mainly exported to Hongkong, America, Japan, Laos and Germany. Exports to these regions and countries in the first quarter realized 0.516 billion USD, accounting for 46.07% of the total export value.
(3)Based on source of exported goods, the exported moulds mainly came from Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Yunnan. Moulds made in these provinces earned 0.835 billion USD export value, accounting for 74.48% of the total exports.
(4) In accordance with import destinations, main import provinces spent 0.456 billion USD on exporting moulds. These provinces were Guangdong, Jiangsu, Yunnan, Shanghai and Tianjin. The imports of these regions accounted for 66.40% of the total imports.
(5) According to source of imported goods, Korea, Japan, Golden Horse customs territories in Taiwan of China, German and Italy provided most of the imported moulds. Total import value cost in these regions and countries reached 0.532 billion USD, covering 77.56% of the overall imports.
